It was a hoot–and a great event idea from my pal, Naomi. We invited a whole bunch of ladies to join us on a random Friday morning. These dozen ladies were courageous enough to accept a vague invitation to come for coffee, cake and conversation. They enjoyed all three, plus made new acquaintances in the process. My grandmother would have loved it–such a wide variety of knowledge in the room all at the same time.

The topics spanned everything from gardening advice, public policy, genetically modified salmon, the role of women in the church to teenagers and texting. The collective brainpower and life experience in the garage that morning was impressive. You may have gotten an invitation, but could not make it–no worries, it will happen again.
